SIA Close protection officers have dynamic, highly paid and rewarding careers usually working as bodyguards for VIPs, diplomats, celebrities, politicians or providing security in the aviation and maritime industry. We only recommend the close protection course for serious individuals with prior experience in the security industry as the course is both long and demanding.
The SIA Close protection training course runs anywhere between 12 to 18 days depending on the daily hours of the course. You must also hold a First Aid at Work (FAW) or First Person on Scene (FPOS) qualification as a pre-requisite. The FAW course is often offered as part of the close protection training course.
This is the longest SIA training course and requires dedication and commitment for successful completion. The topic covered on the course include:
Close Protection Specialist:Throughout the course, your trainer will assess you through various exercises and practical demonstrations. You will also sit a multiple choice question examination. Successful candidates will achieve the Level 3 Certificate for Working as a Close Protection Operative within the Private Security Industry.
All of the assessments will be conducted within the course duration.
We understand that exams can be daunting or nervous for many candidates. Many candidates on the course have not sat an examination in a long time. The trainer on the course will equip you with all the knowledge needed to pass.
